“Working with Bailey is the BEST decision I’ve made! She not only encouraged me daily, she taught me how to shop and cook. Bailey is so genuine because she has gone through the same struggles, felt every emotion of being overweight as I had. In the two months I worked with her I not only adopted a new lifestyle, I also gained a friend! I’m happy to say I’ve lost 3 pants sizes, have no more IBS or GERD, and I can breathe walking up stairs again!! I will never be able to thank her enough!”
What is Goal & Health Coaching or Whole30 Coaching?
If you’ve wanted to make lifestyle or diet changes but haven’t been sure where to start, coaching might be for you. If you feel like you’re so far into the lifestyle you have now and are overwhelmed at the thought of all the things you’d like to change but wishing you could do so, we can get you there. Or, maybe you’ve tried to make changes but they quickly dissipated because they weren’t sustainable. One-on-one coaching with me will tailor a program specific to your needs by working together to identify goals, implement strategies and find solutions that work for you and your life.
I’ve designed this program with heavy consideration for what I wish I had during each and every stage of the process I went through during my natural weight loss, navigating nutrition starting from scratch and a creating a healthy lifestyle. I know what all went into getting there. I know how hard creating a balanced lifestyle can be when it seems you have so many things to overcome or you’re so far from where you want to be. I understand and relate to all of your struggles.
No matter what stage you’re at or what place you’re at in your life, we can work together to accomplish any or all of the following goals – sustainable weight loss, implementing physical activity that fits your life, transitioning to whole foods and/or healthy cooking, grocery shopping and meal prepping for your specific needs or family, reducing and handling stress, emotional eating support, curbing snacking and cravings, busy lifestyles, lack of familial support, overcoming obstacles when it comes to making healthy choices – whatever you need to live a more full and balanced life.
And no, I will not force you to eat Paleo or do a Whole30 (unless you want to of course) 😉
Why Bailey?
After losing 120 pounds, regaining my life, overcoming emotional eating – and figuring it out all on my own – I have a lot of information, insight and support to offer others who may be wanting more assistance, guidance and motivation when it comes to identifying their goals and finding strategies to overcome the barriers to reaching them.
If you follow along with my Instagram, you may know that I’ve began working on obtaining my Registered Dietitian degree. As my knowledge and passion for holistic health and healing through nutrition has grown to mean more to me than I ever once imagined, I’ve discovered that I get more satisfaction out of being a part of more positive outcomes for people in comparison to the often sad endings I witness through my work in the hospital/ICU setting.
Being a caregiver is who I am, right down to my core. I’ve been working in healthcare since I was 16 in some way or another. Helping people has always been my calling. However, in the last two years my passion for health, healing and living your best life has grown so much that it’s led me to desire to help people to better their lives, rather than be on the other end once they’re extremely sick. I’d rather meet you in a place where we can work together to regain your health than meet you in the hospital when it’s too late. (Not that it’s ever too late to better yourself! But you know what I mean.)
What I see in hospital healthcare is often so sad. I leave work with my heart broken more times than I’d like. What fills my heart with joy and my spirit with excitement is all of the messages, comments and emails from YOU telling me I’ve motivated you, given you hope that you CAN do this or thanked me for reminding you to go take your life back.
I still want to help people and I always will, but THAT’S what I want my life work to be. I want to support, inspire and motivate you, because I know how different my life is than it used to be, now that I’ve lost 120 pounds and started to fully live. I don’t want to see the sad endings for the next 40 years of my career. I want to spend that time showing you and helping you through what seems like an uphill battle, through overcoming your struggles and reaching your goals.
As I work towards my R.D. Bachelor’s, I’ve also started working on my nutrition certification. Once I have that, I’ll be offering tailored meal plans for specific dietary needs to accompany this program. Until then, you can work with me through one-on-one goal/healthy lifestyle coaching, geared towards becoming a better, happier, healthier you.
This process can be a lonely one and you may feel like no one in your life knows what you’re going through or you have no one to go to for questions or support. Take it from a previously obese, completely unhappy person, I know what that feels like. I understand what you’re experiencing. I understand the hard stuff and I understand the wins, too. I have a unique perspective to bring to coaching, unlike others that offer the same sort of thing because I’ve been where you are.
There’s nothing healthy lifestyle-related I haven’t previously tackled myself, so I have a lot of tips, tricks, strategies and compassionate-yet-firm expertise to give you. If you need someone on your side, in your corner with the resources, knowledge and experience to help you get to where you want to be, let’s talk about how we can work together.
4 or 8 Week Coaching:
We’ll have an initial one hour phone call where we’ll discuss the intake form you’ve completed and emailed back to me. I will ask questions based on your answers so I can better understand you and your needs. We will go over what you can expect from our coaching relationship such as my no excuses rule (aka – I will hold your hand (to an extent) if you need it, I promise! If you need a daily text to tell you to get your butt to gym, you got it! BUT I will also expect you to take responsibility for yourself and your choices, as that’s the first step to figuring out how and what changes need to be made). We’ll discuss what your strengths and weakness are and how you’re best motivated.
During the initial phone call, we will talk about what the next 4 or 8 weeks looks like based on your specific goals. We’ll discuss what your short-term and long-term goals are and how we will get you closer to achieving them. (i.e. working out, implementing healthy cooking, not snacking, body image, emotional eating support, grocery shopping, lack of family support, transitioning to whole foods, meal prepping, whatever YOU need.) You’ll be able to ask questions related to our month together and if it seems like a good fit and we both want to move forward, you’ll be sent out the agreement for both of us to sign.
Each new week you’ll be asked to formulate a short-term goal that you will accomplish this week (or everyday this week, if we’re working on habits). I will give you strategies, tools and support specific to the goal before starting that week, and during the week should you need it, to make sure we accomplish it.
At the end of the week prior to check-in, you will answer and reflect on a short prompt I specifically develop for that week’s goal. During the hour long check-in, we will spend the first 15-30 minutes (depending on your needs) talking about what worked and what didn’t. If things didn’t go as planned, together we will figure out why and work on developing more strategies to help you be successful. You will continue working on it the following week, along with a new short-term goal as well, unless we need more time to focus on the previous one. If you successfully implemented and/or reached the goal, we will talk about how to make it a long-term change and then move forward with a new goal with the expectation you continue on with the goal you’ve previously reached.
During each weekly check-in we will also touch on the long-term goal you’re working on. We will go over what you’re doing to reach it and what guidance and support I can help you with to get there.
We will spend the rest of the time discussing anything else going on or areas you want additional support such as areas in your life you’re not feeling good about in, topics you have questions about, creative meal ideas for upcoming events/picky kids/a busy week ahead/etc., handling stress, ideas, suggestions and tips I can give you for whatever’s going on in your life.
You will receive a follow-up email after each weekly check-in regarding the things we’ve talked about and outlining the next week’s goal and the strategies and tools we’ve discussed to put in place this week. This email will also contain any pertinent information/resources I want to share with you based on things we’ve talked about.
I will be checking in on you throughout the week between check-ins and you will have access to me when you need it.
The idea is that we slowly work on specific, targeted goals and build upon them over the course of 4 or 8 weeks to help you be successful long-term. With my support, you will make a few changes at a time to the things you feel you need help with or are hardest for you to help you live better, healthier and be happier.
You will have a final check-in following the 4 or 8 weeks to discuss your progress. You will receive an email prior to the final phone call, similar to the reflection emails prior to weekly check-ins. During the final phone call, you and I will both share the things we think you did well and the things we saw improvement and progress in. We will discuss the different options I have for either accountability check-ins the following month or a discounted rate for an additional month. If you choose not to continue working with me, we will determine a plan to help you continue on your own.
I’d love to work with you and help you see positive changes in your life. To schedule an initial consult or inquire about pricing please email me at paleo.bailey@outlook.com or send me a message here.
