Whole30 air fryer chicken fajitas are perfect for a quick but healthy weeknight meal. These paleo air fryer chicken fajitas can be on the table in under 30 minutes and are also gluten-free, keto, and definitely whole family approved. Eat right away or meal prep for the next day but either way this chicken air fryer recipe is delicious.
All you need to make this Whole30 fajita recipe is an air fryer, 1 lb chicken breast, 1 red pepper, 1 green pepper, ½ cup sliced red onion, 1 tbsp fajita seasoning, and 1 tbsp olive or avocado oil. All of these Whole30 and paleo ingredients can be found at your major grocers, and overall, this recipe is incredibly simple to make with very few ingredients.

Start by making your own fajita seasoning and set aside. Then you’re going to slice your chicken into portions that aren’t too thick. Next take the seeds and stems off of your peppers so you can thinly cut them in halves, you can slice your red onion in halves as well! Toss all of your ingredients into a bowl and evenly coat with oil and fajita seasoning. Place mixture into your air fryer and cook at 350 degree F. for 15 minutes.
About halfway into cooking stir/toss using tongs or fork. If your chicken was cut a little too thick and doesn’t seem quite cooked you can air fry for an additional 3 minutes. After that, you can dig in! I also love to use the time that the Whole30 and keto air fryer chicken fajitas are cooking to assemble the fresh veggies I’ll serve it with, like chopping romaine for a salad or steaming some cauliflower rice.
Are you wondering why you’re making your own homemade fajita seasoning rather then buy some from the store? Making your own is a healthier alternative with no sugar or additives plus spices used are probably some you already have in your cupboard! It’s super easy and takes only a few extra minutes.
Nothing is wrong with eating these paleo fajitas plain but in our house we switch it up by putting it on top of greens with some salsa on top to make a fajita salad. Pairing it with thinly sliced jicama to make “tacos” or riced cauliflower is also another yummy Whole30 approved option. I also love this homemade Whole30 (and dairy-free) sour cream recipe for a little creamy dollop on top of these Whole30 air fryer chicken fajitas!

Haven’t made this yet but it’s on my list. Super simple recipe for someone like me who’s new to the air-fryer scene and who doesn’t like to cook in general.
